Setting and Adjusting Your Activity Goal in Simple Steps

Modified on Wed, 4 Oct, 2023 at 2:07 PM

  1. Set Your Goal: Imagine you're about to start your activity or exercise, like a run or a bike ride. You can set a goal for it, like how long you want to exercise, how far you want to go, or how many calories you want to burn. This goal keeps you motivated and focused.

  2. Changing Your Goal: Now, let's say you're in the middle of your activity, and you decide you want to challenge yourself even more. No problem! You can adjust your goal while you're still active.

  3. Making It Bigger: Here's the catch: When you change your goal during your activity, the new goal has to be bigger than the one you started with. It makes sense, right? You're aiming to do more, so your new goal should reflect that.

  4. Progress Counts: The good news is that all the progress you've already made counts towards your new goal. So, if you've been running for 20 minutes and then decide to extend your goal to 30 minutes, those first 20 minutes still count toward your new, longer goal.

  5. Goal Type Stays the Same: One important thing to remember is that you can change the value of your goal, but you can't change the type of goal. For example, if you initially set a goal for distance, you can make it longer during your activity, but you can't switch it to a duration or calorie goal.

So, go ahead, set those goals, challenge yourself, and enjoy your workouts while keeping track of your achievements!
